Advancing the Transformation of Industrial Parks toward the Eco-Industrial Park (EIP) Model
Within the framework of knowledge transfer promoted by the methodology of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), a training session was conducted to support the transformation of Industrial Parks (IPs) into Eco-Industrial Parks (EIPs).
During the activity, participants acquired practical tools to apply the International Framework for Eco-Industrial Parks, aiming to advance toward more sustainable and efficient production models. The training addressed key topics such as types of industrial symbiosis and their identification, the methodology for implementing eco-industrial practices, and the strategic role of park management in monitoring and consolidating the EIP model.
The enthusiasm generated among participants led to the formation of working groups committed to designing action plans to drive this sustainable transition. This initiative represents a significant step toward adopting responsible industrial practices aligned with circular economy principles and sustainable development.
