More than 50 leaders from the manufacturing sector took part in a training program that marked a milestone in the transition toward sustainable production models. The initiative, promoted by La Tercera Mirada, UNIDO, and the Ministry of Production, demonstrated that sustainability is not only achievable, but also a key driver of economic competitiveness and market differentiation.

Regional Contribution: Colombia transferred knowledge to Ecuador, sharing experiences and methodologies that strengthen the transition toward sustainable production models. This contribution reinforces regional integration and shows that technical collaboration among countries is essential to advance toward inclusive, competitive, and low-carbon industrial development, with a focus on:

Strengthened capacities: Participants acquired practical tools through design-thinking-based exercises, enabling them to implement sustainable processes independently and through cooperation, synergies, and industrial symbiosis.

Innovative methodology: The measurement–action–communication sequence and the use of international frameworks for industrial parks and process reengineering facilitated the identification of challenges, the design of solutions, and the development of shared-value strategies.

Triple impact: The tripartite collaboration highlighted that adopting eco-industrial practices and communicating an environmental, social, and economic purpose enables organizations to move toward a more responsible and competitive industry.

This effort demonstrates that economic growth can go hand in hand with addressing social and environmental challenges, consolidating an inclusive and sustainable industrial model that positions the country as a regional benchmark in innovation and resilience.
