Toward More Competitive Markets: MICI Promotes International Quality Standards
This standard establishes the requirements for bodies that certify products, processes, and services and is essential to ensure market confidence in the quality of the goods offered.
During the training, the fundamental elements of the standard and its applicability within MICI’s certification body were addressed. In addition, the concept of certification schemes was introduced, based on the complementary standard ISO/IEC 17067, which enables the development of certification models aligned with the requirements of national and international markets.
The activity allowed participants to gain an in-depth understanding of the technical and operational requirements needed to move forward with accreditation under international standards, as well as to identify opportunities for improvement in current certification processes. It also promoted the internalization of best practices aimed at enhancing the quality of local products.
This initiative represents a strategic step toward consolidating a robust national quality system that facilitates access for micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) to more demanding markets and strengthens consumer confidence.
MICI thus reaffirms its commitment to sustainable productive development and the promotion of standards that enhance the country’s competitiveness in global trade.
