As part of the World Accreditation Day celebration, the Dominican Republic received valuable input from Colombia, which contributed specialized knowledge through a keynote conference on the importance of accreditation in international trade.
The presentation emphasized that products and services intended for export must be certified by accredited bodies that are part of International Recognition Agreements, ensuring trust in global markets and strengthening national competitiveness. This technical cooperation initiative aimed to:
- Develop a culture of quality in the Dominican Republic.
- Promote the participation of public administration and the integration of the private sector in accreditation and conformity assessment activities.
- Enhance the competitiveness of the country’s products and services.
- Facilitate international trade.
- Contribute to inclusive economic growth.
- Provide access to opportunities for SMEs.
- Ensure a level playing field for developing economies.
Dominican authorities highlighted the importance of this knowledge transfer, which strengthens local technical capacities and creates new opportunities to position the Dominican Republic in international markets.
