Within the framework of technical assistance, a regional dialogue platform was developed among Latin American countries, focusing on the traceability of environmental practices within the coffee value chain. In this initiative, Costa Rica shared its knowledge and experience, providing methodologies and tools that strengthen climate action in the agricultural sector and contribute to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The training was led by the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock of Costa Rica and delivered to the National Coffee Roundtable Federation (FEMNCAFE), composed of 32 associative groups of Peace Agreement signatories, united through a coffee value chain grounded in social and environmental justice.

The sessions were held in the following regions of Colombia:

El Laurel, municipality of Chaparral, Tolima department.

Trópicos Frutos de la Esperanza, municipality of Yotoco, Valle del Cauca department.

La Maravilla, municipality of Viotá, Cundinamarca department.

The initiative acknowledges the sector’s vulnerability to climate change and promotes the transition toward resilient and low-carbon practices, supported by financing systems, technology transfer, and innovation adapted to local realities.

This regional effort consolidates coffee as a driver of sustainable transformation, where international cooperation and shared knowledge become essential pillars for addressing future environmental and productive challenges.
