Within the framework of regional cooperation, Colombia shared its experience in implementing Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) systems applied to mass-consumption products such as mineral and vegetable oils, electrical and electronic equipment, tires, among others. The main achievements include:
Institutional strengthening: Argentina has the capacity to establish its own legislative framework, enabling the federal government to define EPR regulations aimed at sustainability and inclusive industrial development.
Regional lessons: The Colombian experience confirms the feasibility of EPR programs, highlighting that each country must design a model tailored to its specific context.
Comprehensive impact: The implementation of EPR generates economic, environmental, and social benefits, becoming a driver of innovation, competitiveness, and the transition toward a circular economy.
Governance and participation: The State defines the rules, while the business sector leads implementation, supported by an EPR law that establishes the national framework.
Strategic regulation: A broad consultation process is recommended to set gradual targets, ensure traceability, establish monitoring mechanisms, simplify procedures, and create a national one-stop service platform.
Future outlook: This model creates opportunities for investment in infrastructure, technological development, material reintegration, and the promotion of responsible consumption and separation practices, strengthening industrial and community resilience.
